Founded in 2001, the SMEC Foundation supports our commitment to community development and sustainable poverty reduction through providing small-scale grant support to development projects, communities and charities around the world.

Partnerships are the essence of SMEC Foundation programs. Locally-based SMEC teams actively collaborate with our charity partners to implement the projects funded by the Foundation, delivering outstanding outcomes for their communities.

Enhancing Community Water Supply and Wildlife Conservation in Malawi Lupus affects thousands in Fiji and the Pacific, often undiagnosed. SMEC in Suva donated to the Lupus Foundation for the “Rural Village Awareness 2024” project, aiming to raise awareness and improve healthcare access in rural Fiji, focusing on Semo, Lawai, Cuvu, and Laselase villages. The project supports lupus patients, their families, village leaders, and healthcare workers.
Inauguration of Harivillu 3 Anganwadi Project This project, supported by SMEC Foundation in partnership with The Anganwadi Project (TAP) and the Rural Development Trust (RDT), supports young children and their mothers. The new facility includes a classroom, kitchen, pantry, open cooking and cleaning facilities, restrooms for both children and adults, and a dedicated feeding room for mothers. This initiative aims to provide essential services and support to the local community, ensuring a nurturing environment for early childhood development.

Enhancing Sanitation and Education for Earthquake Victims in West Pasaman, Indonesia SMEC, in partnership with HSI Berbagi, supported earthquake victims in West Pasaman, Indonesia. The initiative, which began after the February 2022 earthquake, focused on constructing sanitation and toilet facilities and providing essential learning tools for Public Elementary School 26 in Talamau, West Pasaman.
